1.
Never hesitate to ask questions.
If you are unsure of a particular type of paint or procedure
- please ask. The most important service we offer is information.
2.
Extend the life of your paint project.
Never start a job without proper prep, such as the rough
cleaning of tue surface, removal of old peeling or blistering paint
and use of a primer if required. Time spent on preperation is the
key to improving the look and life of your paint.
3.
Take good care of all your painting tools.
Wash brushes from latex paint in warm, soapy water. Comb
brushes and rollers after cleaning to eliminate excess fuzz and
to get rid of loose bristles.
4.
Store brushes and rollers in freezer overnight.
Tools used with oil based paints can be wrapped in saran
wrap, placed in a plastic bag and stored in the freezer overnight.
Take out of freezer 30 minutes before you plan to resume the job.
5.
Keep records.
Always keep a record of the paint product used as well as
the color code. Formula's are always written on top of the paint
can lid.
6.
Avoid painting in direct sunlight.
Heat blistering can result if hot sun causes rapid drying
and thus allows the trapping of solvents which later vaporize and
put pressure against the top coat.
7.
Check compatibility of products you use.
Always ask what products are designed to be used for surfaces
you are intending to paint.
8.
Use specialty brushes.
Make use of angled brushes for tight areas and corners. Ask
us about other special tools designed to help make your job easier.
9.
Use paint tray liners.
This practice makes changing the color or type of paint fast
and easy.
10.
Read the fine print.
Almost everything you need to know is written on the back
of the paint can product.
Finally,
ask more questions - you'll be glad you did!
